Día Contra el Racismo el 21 de marzo, la UPL exhibe los trabajos realizados por sus alumnos y basados en fotografías de Sebastiao Salgado. Las 26 reproducciones serán subastadas para ayudar a niños con sordera profunda en Guatemala.

Sometimes, we may read how Charles Dickens describes the hard conditions of poor children in Victorian times thinking benignly that things have changed.
Tragically, the present times are worse. Thousands upon thousands of girls and boys suffer terribly and die every year due to hunger and disease.
Others, like these kids that Brazilian master photographer Sebastiao Salgado embraced on film, have to endure the agony of becoming refugees on account of political wars and banishments.
On an excellent accompanying article by Galician writer Manuel Rivas which was published by Spanish El País Semanal magazine in 2000, their plight is eloquently explained.
Just like we await the exciting surprise of new musicians, movie directors, writers, actors, architects, and other artists that will shake things up with new wonders, we have to wait for scientists, activists and politicians of great worth and talent to bring for the world solutions - answers for the questions that present a problematic vision of the future.
One thing is clear: we are one world, one people, brothers and sisters.
